Welcome

Redwood Rangers is a beautiful 600-acre cooperative horse pasture on EBMUD watershed land in Castro Valley.  We have outstanding trail access, plus arena + round pen usable during the dry season. Cost is reasonable because we are a non-profit and members do all the work needed to keep pasture running (feeding, fencing, trough cleaning, moving herd, etc.). We feed alfalfa once daily (approximately August-February) and the horses get enough calories by just grazing the rest of the year. The pasture is quite hilly, so not appropriate for lay-ups or retired horses. Our pasture works best for horses who are calm, sound, well broke, rugged, and easy keepers. We have room for a maximum of 21 horses and maintain a waiting list to fill vacancies.
